2195 FRANCE (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) - Grésivaudan Valley
Located in Isère, in the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region, and surrounded by the Chartreuse and Belledonne mountains, the Grésivaudan is a broad valley which comprises the alluvial plain of the Isère River from Grenoble to the confluence of the Arc; or, more recently, the entire valley of the Isère from Tullins to Albertville. The stretch from Tullins to Grenoble is the Bas-Grésivaudan (Lower Grésivaudan) and that between Grenoble and Albertville is the Haut-Grésivaudan (Upper Grésivaudan).
About the stamps
The first stamp, Anniversary, was issued on 8 avril 2002.
The second stamp is part of the series Portraits de régions No 10 (Portrait of Regions No 10), about which I wrote here.
