2437 GERMANY (Schleswig-Holstein) - The lighthouse in Ellenbogen, on Sylt Island

Sylt, the largest North Frisian island and as well the northernmost island of Germany, nicknamed the "Queen of the North Sea", is well known for the distinctive shape of its shoreline. Its northernmost part looks like a bent arm, hence the name Ellenbogen, German for "elbow." The entire Ellenbogen is a bird and nature sanctuary. Its beautiful coastal landscape is dominated by a lighthouse built in 1857 and newly renovated.

About the stamps
The first stamp is part of a series dedicated to Russian Kremlins, about which I wrote here. The second stamp is part of a definitive series about which I wrote here.
